We will go over your original design and make sure everything is going to fit in your space and let you know of any adjustments needed, if you have opted for the full design service we will email you a copy of the proposed design to finalize, at this stage we will need all of your appliance details.
Once finalized you can order your Kitchen from your chosen provider, let us know as soon as you have a delivery date and we can book an installation date for your new kitchen.
The plumber and electrician will need to do a quick visit to disconnect any appliances and isolate sockets in cabinets, all pipes must be capped with all fittings removed.
After the disconnection, the removal of the old kitchen can start, this usually takes a full day and you will need a suitable space for the old kitchen to stay until the final stages of the new kitchen installation, if you’ve been quoted by us to remove and dispose of the kitchen, we wait until the end for collection so that all the packaging and off-cut material from the new kitchen can be taken away at the same time, sometimes it’s better to arrange a skip if you have adequate space for it.
The plumber and electrician can either stay until the cabinets have been removed or come back the following day to move any services that require a new location, it’s always best to try find a local plumber and electrician that can quickly visit on a Sunday and return Monday, after a few hours the old kitchen will be removed enough for the plumber and electrician, usually by around 12pm, our installers will start building the cabinetry if it’s flat pack, and can also check the new services are going exactly where they need to be whilst on site.
The most exciting step! at this stage your kitchen will be getting built ready for installation or if already built will be getting installed as per plan, first the base cabinetry is installed then the wall cabinets, in the following days the fillers, end panels will be installed alongside any other joinery work required.
The benchtops will be installed by one of our installers if laminate or timber, If your having stone, a final check measure will be done, after a final check measure the manufacture of stone usually takes around 2 weeks, so plenty of time to arrange a tiler.
Time for the splashback to be installed or any tiling to commence, your new kitchen is almost finished and will be ready for the sink, cooktop, appliances and sockets to be re connected, usually tiling takes around 2 days with time to allow for the adhesive to set.
The last step of Kitchen installation is having everything connected, your plumber or electrician should be booked in advance for this final stage so there are no delays in getting your new kitchen fully functional.
an average 14 cabinet kitchen with laminate benchtops from IKEA without any additional joinery work will usually take around 5 days to get to this stage.
How are we different?
Every kitchen installation we do is installed as if it was in our own home, our installation team are some of the most skilled in Australia so you can rest assured we can give the best advice alongside service with 20+ years experience.
We go the extra mile and that’s why we may not offer the cheapest solutions but we firmly believe the kitchen is the heart of the home and installation should never be a compromise, for example – we will take time in scribing a filler to a wall and building it up from 2 layers of material to be flush with the doors for that seamless cabinetry integration, and others may just do one cut and screw the filler to the side of the cabinet and set it back from the doors, the time difference in installation of one of these fillers adds up and this is a small example of how the cost of installation reflects the quality.
As you can see above there’s a huge problem with unskilled people installing kitchens, even builders and joiners if they don’t specialize in kitchens you can be assured they will make mistakes along the way, if you are spending 15k on a new kitchen you should aim for Quality, be proud of your new kitchen and choose bonza benchtops & kitchens to make your house a home.
